Originally from Pontypridd but now living in Cardiff I am a Bangor University graduate with a degree in History and Social Policy. I was elected to represent the Menai (Bangor) Ward for Bangor City Council in the 2012 Local Government elections before relocating to Cardiff in 2015. In my role as councillor I also served as a School Governor and a member of the North Wales Community Health Council.
I served two years frin 2013/14 – 2014/15 as Vice President Education and Welfare and President of Bangor Students’ Union, leading the Union’s work on academic representation and campaigning, Higher Education policy, academic quality and standards, and community engagement.
I am passionate about education and community politics, and believe in the devolution of power, electoral reform, and a publicly funded and sustainable education system with equality and access at its heart.
I became a member of the Liberal Democrats at the age of 16 in 2008 during the European Election and Local Government elections in Wales, and served on the Welsh Liberal Democrat’s Policy Committee between 2011 and 2015 as Liberal Youth Wales’ Policy Officer.
